Pink *Mimosa in Nepal, 2009

*Mimosa is a tree with beautiful pink flowers. In the Netherlands we only know them as little plants; "Kruidje-roer-me-niet". Its leaves close when you touch them. The big one in Nepal is its bigger brother and only closes its leaves at night, therefor also called the sleeping tree. When I look at the picture I cannot remember this flower had any scent at all though one of Diptyque's famous scented candles is called Mimosa. I have also read once that the flowers only last for one day which really is a shame but makes it even more special, don't you think?

  1. Merry Christmas sweetie! I love the photos! I remembered when i was much younger, how much i "stepped" on those mimosa and looked at them closing up. I know i am bad. But it is a beautiful sight indeed.

I wondered how those scent are gonna be like, cos like you i don't remembered mimosa emitting any scent at all. It is indeed a shame, but the beauty of it remains!
